I am testing the newsletter module on my site and I am trying to send out a list of events. I copy and paste from the core Events Module which includes all the links. Be default it pastes in an un-qualified address so I add in the complete URL - but when the message goes out it strips out the address.

For example I enter :

<a href="http://www.abc.com/linkhere.html">Link Here</a>

and what is sent is:

<a href="/linkhere.html">Link Here</a>

But if I leave off the http:// it is not striped - though the link still does not load properly.

One further note - if I add a link not to my site it works fine - say to Yahoo - the link is transmitted properly.

Allan,

Which version are you using? This is actually a problem with the DNN editor. It actually strips out the fully qualified URL in favor of the relative URL. However, I added some code to fix this for links as well as images... Should be in the latest version...

Just let me know...

Thanks,
Russel

Thanks for the quick reply as usual Russel.

I am using 1.2 - but in the module list it displays 1.1, not sure why. The unsubscribe link is displayed properly but links shown in the body do not.

To make sure I have the right version I deleted the module and re-installed instead of upgrading. I am on DNN 3.3.5 - weird...

Allan,

Sorry about that. I actually fixed it on my production install of 3.1.1, but not the public download.. Should be fixed now... Give it a try and let me know...

Thanks,
Russel

I just downloaded the latest version and in the module list it still displays 1.1 - the installation ran without error so I am not sure if I missed anything? Must I delete the previous install? Here is the info from the Host settings if that will help point the right direction.

Site Configuration
DotNetNuke Version:

The DotNetNuke application version you are running 03.03.05

Data Provider:

The .NET Framework version which the application is running on - specified through IIS 1.1.4322.2300

I just downloaded again the version posted on the site - the version displayed in the Modules list is 1.1 and states it is for DNN 2.x- still cannot send a link refering to my own site - any thoughts?

The recent version posted in reference to the 4.3.6 thread seems to have fixed the major part of this issue - thanks. Please note though that asimple URL (www.abc.com) is still stripped but a URL with a page goes fine (www.abc.com/page1.html)
