I uploaded your latest newsletter (1.2) and it still has the same problem with dnn 4.3.6 - when you submit a newsletter for distribution you get the "Error:Send Newsletters is currently unavailable". Inside your zip module the .dll file has a 11/8/06 date but when installed the newsletter's version still says 1.1. Beyond that the module works perfectly - I love it and hope it can be made to work with dnn 4.3.6. (I have no eMail problems - other modules send eMail daily) Thanks

Yeah I just uploaded it and the module looks great and is easy to configure but I get the same error when trying to send a newsletter. I'm running DNN version 04.03.05 and newsletter 1.2 Here is the exact error: Error: Send Newsletters is currently unavailable. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at Orizonti.Newsletter.sendNewsletter.btnSend_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

My production install is 4.3.5 and it should work fine with that... I haven't tested with 4.3.6, so I can't say for sure there... I'll try to get 4.3.6 installed and test it out... Thanks, Russel

I get the same error with 4.3.6 and 4.3.7 - as well as it still showing 1.1 as opposed to 1.2, because of this I can't confirm if the other problem of sending URLs

same error here. Doesn't work with 4.3.6 for some reason. Any insight into this?

just to let you know, I installed the older version ((Orizonti.Newsletter_-_1.1_-_DNN3-PA_Install.zip) and it works. At least I don't get the error when I click the send link. (I still haven't gotten the email yet for the newsletter I sent out but that could be because it's still sending)

Ok..here's the deal... I installed your older version and sent a newsletter but never got it. So I tried to send it synchronously and I got an exception saying it couldn't find dotnetnuke.common.globals.sendmail method (because it's been moved to the mail class now). So the older version works and eliminates the object ref not found in the btn_send event which we are all getting with your new version, but can't send email...So I put a method in the globals.vb class that has the same params as the method you were trying to call dotnetnuke.common.globals.sendmail, recompiled the dotnetnuke.dll and it worked. But please, fix the new versions btn_sendclick method in the new version so I can remove my hack. Or send me the source code and I'll fix it. I think the _btnSend variable in the class is null for some reason in the newsletter class. But I'm not sure. Thanx Frank

Ok Everyone... I just "reposted" the version I tested with a clean install of 4.3.7 and it worked fine... Maybe I posted an older version, so please download and give it a try... Thanks, Russel

Installed the new download, clicked the send newsletter link and no object reference not found...good news there...I'm still waiting on the email but my provider is slow so it might be awhile before I get the email. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!! Frank

HI, I have DNN 3.2.2 and the same problem with the Newsletter module. I installed the version 1.1 for DNN 3, it works, but no mail will be sent. Thanks for any help, brgds, Peter

It looks like the code wants to use the FreeTextBox which is not thedefault with DNN 4.5.1 InnerException: Could not load file or assembly 'FreeTextBox' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

I currently have dnn version 04.05.03 [an upgrade to 04.05.05 available] "Error:Send Newsletters is currently unavailable". I cannot figure out how to fix it via other people's comments. I'm not a programmer, I just need clear instructions without jargon. Yes, when clicking Send Newsletter from drop-down list I receive this error. Also, I don't see any way for people to Un-subscribe. Maybe there's a link in the newsletter after you send? Signing up works fine by adding info to the list. Otherwise, what use is this list if I cannot send newsletters?

Sorry, that current version of the Newsletter module is looking for the FreeTextBox assembly which is no longer there... Until a patch is release, it will not work... I've been very busy lately and I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to fix it... Thanks, Russel
