Not sure how you have your setup, but here's how I have my development environment setup...

VS 2003
Create a blank solution.
Add DotNetNuke project to solution
Add the Newsletter project to the solution. Make sure the Newsletter module was extracted to the desktopmodules folder.
Add the Newsletter SqlDataProvider project to the solution...

That should be it...

Do you have the setup the same as I described? Looking at the errors described above in your first post, the module projects are not under the DNN/DesktopModules folder. Also, what version of Visual Studio are you using?

I followed your instructions and error 1 4 6 7 are still there. I am using Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition.

Also, i don't know how to add Newsletter SqlDataProvider into the project, as we are using developer express. Would you please advice?

Thank you

By the way, I don't really understand the meaning of 'Add the Newsletter project to the solution'. Is it meaning that i need to drag the whole folder of orizonti.newsletter to the desktopmodules.

Please advice. I am really new to dnn.

Thank you

The project was built and compiled with Visual Studio 2003. You'll need to upgrade the project to make it work with any version of Visual Studio 2005.

I think the version is ok.
I am concerning the installation process. I just put the source folder to the desktopmodules folders and build.. this may be problematic.

I would like to know more your suggested process. Would you mind telling us more about
"Add the Newsletter project to the solution." and
"Add the Newsletter SqlDataProvider project to the solution"
?

I am also wondering how the .dnn is made as i saw from the patch that there is a .dnn file.

Thank you.

In Visual Studio 2003, each project has to be added to the solution... In VS2005, this is not the case with web projects... I was referencing VS 2003.

The DNN file can be created by going to Host-Module Definitions and Clicking the pencil next to your module and clicking the Create Private Assembly link on the bottom of the page... It creates a zip file including the DNN file for installing the module...
